The TMCH project provides an automated interface to allow users to interact in an automated fashion with the data stored in the Clearinghouse database (TMCH database). XML has been widely used by registries and registrars to provide an automated interfaces (the API) for their data exchange. This API provides similar functionality and will be provided using TLS to be as close to the current EPP standard as possible. The API may only be used by Trademark Agents that have contracted with the Clearinghouse.
This zip archive contains samples of commands and responses based on the XSD that should help building implementations to use the API provided to get direct access to the various objects in the TMCH database in an automated fashion.
In the Documentation folder you can find text (.txt) document containing a list of all Poll messages and Error codes and their ID numbers, a list of all Jurisdictions, a list of all & and @ transliterations and the API manual with command and response samples.
The complete XSD scheme and Mark schemes can be found in the XSD folder. It the XSD scheme extends the Signed Mark Data (SMD) XSD description draft-lozano-smd-01.txt that was provided by ICANN, which is also contained in the folder. The structure of the mark block is intentionally included and not modified to prevent misunderstanding, make the mapping easy and prevent misinterpretation of the various fields.
Update: API certificate has been upgraded to a trusted CA certificate
This manual details the necessary steps to add and update your Proof of Use.
Trademark holders that want to opt in for the Sunrise service are required to provide a Proof of Use (POU) of their submitted trademarks. As per the ICANN requirements, an update on the POU documentation is required once every five years. For this reason, the TMCH requires the holder (or the agent acting on its behalf) to reconfirm the validity of the submitted POU documentation.
This POU revalidation process is facilitated via the TMCH web interface and is detailled in this manual.
Note that the POU revalidation is a mandatory process for each sunrise eligible trademark record in the Trademark Clearinghouse.
This document contains the Clearinghouse Validation Terms and Conditions for Trademark Holders. When you decide to register with the Clearinghouse as a Trademark Holder you will need to agree to these Terms and Conditions. This document will be provided to you through the Clearinghouse User Interface.

This document will provide TMCH users with a guide on how to manage their TMCH services such as Sunrise Services, Claims Services and Ongoing Notifications.
These guides will provide the guidelines on how to change the contract data of your account.
You can only change your contract data if all the mark records linked to your account have status “Incorrect” or if you have no mark records linked to your account. If you do have verified mark records linked to your account and you still wish to change your contract data all mark records will be assigned status incorrect and will be validated again. The mark records that were previously assigned status verified will most likely be invalid after this validation.
We strongly suggest that you create a new account if you already have verified mark records linked to your old account.
All trademark records in the Trademark Clearinghouse are protected for a certain duration. Trademark record renewal will give the Trademark Agent or Trademark Holder the option to prolong the protection duration for 1, 3 or 5 years.
This document will provide TMCH Trademark Agents and Holders with a guide on how to add variations (extra labels) next to their standard labels via the web interface of the TMCH. Please note that these extra labels can only be used when the Ongoing Notifications service is activated. As a consequence, when this service is activated and when users have added variations, users will be notified when this variation is used for the registration of a domain name in a new gTLD.
Out of the Clearinghouse implementation discussions, a Strawman solution was proposed to
balance and address the concerns of affected stakeholders. This covered the inclusion of domain
names previously determined to have been abusively registered (hereinafter “Abused DNL”)
in the Clearinghouse in order to receive Trademark Claims services.
ICANN has requested the Clearinghouse to implement the point of the Strawman model. The following guide explains how to add the abused domain name labels and their corresponding UDRP or Court Cases.
This document will provide TMCH users with an overview of the steps you can to take to consult and edit your Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) account.
This guide will provide the guidelines on how to add domain labels to verified Mark Records.
Not to be confused with abused domain name labels, for more information in how to add Abused Domain Name labels please refer to: How to Manage UDRP/Court cases and Labels
